I'm going to host a event known as Extralife, it is a 24 hour gaming fundraiser for local Children's Hospitals in which people sponsor gamers to play per hour. I will be working in tandem with Matt Hoffman and Antony Galob to host the event. We hope to host the event in the Springfield Township High school cafeteria, Mrs. Pirmann has kindly offered to be our mentor through the process.

We hope to raise as much money as possible for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to benefit children's cancer research. The product will allow me to interview and ask fellow students on things they have learned from video games that would help them in a real life situation.

We will request the High School for October the 29th and plan to host the event in the cafeteria or Jay Freeze Lobby, students will bring consoles and monitors to play on. While Matt, Anthony and myself briefly ask questions to people about helpful things they learned from video games.

The High School, Monitors, gaming consoles, games are the materials. Resources we would need would range from food and beverages to the building itself. We plan on it being a 24 event and that's what we are aiming to complete. We need chaperones and mentors to monitor the kids, I've asked a few teachers so far and they all have confirmed that they can come for some amount of time.

My research topic is How video games can teach positive things to people. Videogames teach people how to conquer bad habits or even work better in a group. I chose the project because its a very specific field of game design that caught my eye, Ive been a gamer my entire life and Its something that I can relate to personally, it is a interesting topic to me and Ive always wondered why no one had ever done anything like it.

How people can learn from videogames.
